Railclone Wall
« on: June 13, 2019, 03:13:29 PM »
I've been trying to create a quite tricky brick wall array, for an architectural job. Using the built in brick wall macro isn't quite suitable.

The problem I have is at the corners. Adaptive corners almost gets the job done, but not quite!

I've attached the scene, any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Pictor,

Apologies for the delay in replying to this one. It was trickier than at first it seems.

To solve this I have created a custom Macro that you can use, please take a look at the attached file. It should be pretty self-explanatory but here's a video showing it in action.

If this is useful I may release it publically and record a short tutorial to help out other users.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

All the best,

Paul

Paul, thank you so much for this.

Are you able to backsave to max 2019 please?

Hi - that was created in 2018. It should open in Max 2019 fine.
Cheers,

I'm so sorry, total brain fade today. I was trying to open it with my installation of 2016!

I'll pass it on the the visualiser working on this project and report back.

Thanks again Paul, super support from iToo!

Hi again Paul,

Works perfectly, apart from the corner mortar joint, as the atatched jpeg shows.

Is this possible?

Hi
Thanks a lot for this macro, it help me a lot.
Just a question : is it possible to replace a path with a clipping area ? With that, no problem of height and I think it will be more quick...
Thanks !

Hi Roland,

You could certainly build a version of the macro that uses clipping areas, but you wouldn't be able to do corners. Would that still be of use?
