Title: Hypthetical question - biasing randomisation along array
Post by: Rio on February 13, 2023, 06:49:53 PM
Hypothetical question that may become a very needed feature for me soon - is it possible to bias the likelihood of a segment appearing in a random array by way of a texture map or similar.

Case use is a facade that wants to have more larger windows at one end and more solid panels at the other.

Is there a macro that can do that?

TIA

Hi,

Please take a look at this thread  (https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/gradient-probability-on-objects-variation/?PHPSESSID=e4de1f5f62d0627c5025b93658300f3e) which discusses a similar case. you can graduate the probability of an item being selected based on its position on the X or Y spline.

This tutorial may also be of interest.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!

Paul

That's great, for the purposes of this image the standard macro worked out, but I may well need it to merge from A to B to A again, in which case I'll use your custom one.
