Baking Finished RailClone Model
« on: May 05, 2018, 10:30:12 AM »
Hiya

I am having trouble with a recent VRay update on my home PC where I use my RailClone and Forest Pack licences.  Am I able to somehow "bake" the Railclone model so that I can render on another machine which doesn't have my current VRay issues or RailClone licences?

Kind regards

Hi. Yes, it can be done in two ways, but with several limitations:

1) Using RailClone Tools.

Please note that several features will not work, as the Material and XForm operators, or RailClone Color, because on instanced segments are computed at render time.

2) Collapsing the RC object to a mesh. To get the full geometry, first your should set Display->Viewport to "Mesh".

This method creates a single mesh with the full object, disabling the instancing engine.
The size of the geometry may be very large, depending of the complexity of the RC object.
