fstorm, instancing engine, and apply mapping
« on: June 13, 2023, 11:24:36 AM »
Hi,

We have RC version 4.3.2 (time to update it at some point...)
For now, i need to turn off "use instancing engine" if i want to apply the "apply box mapping" on a segment.

Am i missing something, is this because of fStorm renderer ?
Is it something that could be fixed in the more recent verion of RC ?

thank you in advance for your reply

Hi Ben,

In the case of the FStorm, that‘s a “partially supported feature” (the UVW XForm operator and automatic box mapping are not currently supported while the instancing engine is enabled) and as you’ve pointed out, it can be enabled by turning off the instancing engine. I'm afraid, that there are a few features, that are not fully supported on the mentioned render engine - please feel free to check the Feature Compatibility table in our online documentation.

Best regards,
