L1S - Open & Closed spline problem
« on: June 11, 2019, 05:28:40 PM »
Closed splines are generated ok but open splines are wrong. The simple reverse is not working.
Is this job for A2S/Auto align X>XY and full closed spline with some condition for the empty bottoms?

Thank you.

Hi

Seems like You can close the spline and assign mtl id = 2 plus restrict style to work only on mtl id = 1

Thank you Rokas.
Yes, eventually that was my solution too, although I still have problems when only 2 part of the spline is active. I have started with this idea with A2S and an extra Corner segment but then I try this approach on L1S and it worked.
But what causes that kind of behaviour?

My workflow is the main modelling done in CAD software and imported into MAX. So I kinda have to extract Splines from the model and going through all and do extra connecting some time will be a pain in the ***

Please try to do some more testing about that matter...
I have finished the job by post-sub-editing but after all, this is a simple L1S generator and it should work fine. I have tried with some rotation/alignment of RC/Segment etc. but I always get some unexpected results.
tnx

Alternative solution (not ideal) would be to use different RC objects for different walls:

Yes, I guess so...
Thank you Rokas.
Maybe we will find some ease solution with RC4....
Maybe to have some Expression or Conditional operator to detect spline/vector orientation on Global X/Y/Z.
