Library Models & Scale & Units
« on: March 25, 2014, 11:28:52 PM »
I tried searching through the forums and online resources but cannot find a solution to this problem for 3ds max 2013 plugin Railcone Pro2.

1. Every time I insert an object in from the preset library (chain link fence, sidewalks, etc) they are VERY small. So small, that the object is not even functioning correctly. I then have to global scale the object 1000%!!!

2. my scene I'm trying to create is a fairly large terrain.

3. what is the best unit settings to work in?

Hi,

This problem may occur if Respect System Units in Files is switched off in the System Unit Setup.

Hope that helps,

Paul

Yes I have that option checked.  Please see attached image.  It will explain the issue better.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions ?

Hi,

The size in your screenshot doesn't look too far off to me. If you are concerned about the object displaying as boxes RailClone displays geometry as boxes in the viewport if the number of faces is too high. This is to maximise performance only in the viewport, it will render fine. These settings can be found in the Display->Adaptative mode rollout. If it continues to be a problem if you could attach a simple scene file for me to check out that might help to isolate any problems.

Thanks,

Paul

Great! That worked!  Although the viewport showed it incorrectly.  It rendered perfectly, even with Octane Render engine.

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated!!!
