Licensing for Distrubuted Rendering
« on: July 23, 2024, 01:23:10 pm »
Getting an issue rendering parts of an RC object via Xref Scene whilst using Corona DR. Just to check - I don't need a pro licence on every node in order to DR object which would otherwise need a Pro licence to render locally?

I have a pro licence on my main machine, but not on all the render nodes.

My understanding that for network rendering a pro licence is not required.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing these troubles. There's no need for a license for rendering purposes - our plug-ins can be widely used on render farms as network rendering nodes do not require any type of license. The installer includes the "Render slave node" mode specifically for these purposes.

I suggest doing a quick test using RailClone Tools to export all distributed geometry to instances. You can find it under Utilities - More ... - RailClone Tools. For more information, please refer to our online documentation. This will help you determine if the problem occurs during the RailClone object conversion.

Best regards,
