Curb corner
« on: April 24, 2017, 11:56:32 AM »
In generally it looks fine and in overall i'm satisfied, but there is just one little thing about the corners that's not entirely right and I struggle to resolve.

At the moment the curb corners looks like this:

But its actually supposed to look like this:

This is the Concrete Curb from the library, but I made a custom style based on it.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, I've added this to our wish list for improvements. Actually this should be relatively simple to achieve using a new Macro included with RailClone 3. Scale Final Segment X identifies the final segment in the array and allow you to rezise it to fill available space, it also has some setting to manually adjust the resultant size. Using this I can create the corner overlap you illustrate parametrically.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Many Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your replay.
I tried some poking around with this Scale Final Segment but I can't understand how its supposed to be implanted.
In the video you attached it seems to work flawlessly, but when I try something similar the corners are not what I expected.

Can you please share a .max scene for me to breakdown and see where it went wrong for me?

Thank you!

p.s
Also there are 3 separate Scale Final Segment in the Macros list. They seem to be the same.

Hi,

Please find attached a sample file. There are a couple of parameters wired together but it should be pretty clear what's what from the files. You're right about the 3 Macros, there should be two - one for the X Axis, and one for the Y. It seems the name of the macro is too long to display so they look the same - I'll fix that and remove the extra one.

Thanks for the feedback!

Found what went wrong.
I just needed to disable the Slice checkbox in the Segment Properties:)

Thanks a lot for the help!
