rcSlice messing up UVW's
« on: September 24, 2025, 02:30:36 pm »
Hi there,

Since the latest update I have been experiencing severe problems with the textures and their UVW’s using the rcSlice modifier.

I have made a test setup, where you can see what happens.

In the background you see the parts, and in the foreground the results.

From left you see the original model, with good correct texture coordinates.

Next you see the same set of models now added the rcSlice modifier - already there you see that the texture coordinates are messed up. Before applying the modifier, I have reset Xforms - although it didn’t made any difference.

3rd column is the rcslice extracted into the needed parts, and with corrected UVW’s.

Looking at the style  - I have made the Bench style by making the bench part and the backwall in two linear generators. I have made two versions of this setup, to the left using the rcSlice - to the right using the individual parts (with corrected UVW’s).

As you can see, the rcSlice version is totally messed up while the part version is looking fine.

However, if you look closely, the texture is still added divided by its segments, never the less I have set it to use the box mapping Real world. - This is not so obvious here as it is in other styles I have made lately. I must conclude that the box map function doesn’t work now.

I am using 3DS MAX 2026, the latest Corona update and the latest RailClone update.

I hope this shows the issue. Otherwise I can post you the scene, if needed.

Cheers, Lars

Hi Lars,

If possible, could you please send us your test scene? Thanks in advance.
