Macro Regular Segment or Embedded Segment Input
« on: June 27, 2022, 11:43:44 PM »
Hi
I suppose this will be difficult to implement but I`ll give it a try.
What about adding a regular Segment Object or the possibility to embed Segment Input inside a Macro.
That way we could have much cleaner Styles when copying, not to mention the possibility to create basically predefined "RC Object" with the option for expanding with additional Inputs. All that in one Style sheet editor.

Hi,
It's not possible, sorry. Segments, Parameters and Base Objects are special nodes, which their values stored in the Max parameters blocks. Instead other nodes (including macros), are stored in a XML definition.
They is not a simple way to take them out of the root style.

Thank you, Carlos.
I thought so... too bad...

As you can imagine, when copying Macros we copy/drag all connection lines and this can be a complete visual mess.
What about visually grouping some nodes into one "Group Node" and creating a list of parameters for additional links, similar to the Attribute list with nested generators. Sure, potentially, it will be a large list but we could "clean up" the Style Editor Sheet drastically.

Hi Dragan,

I've been chatting to Carlos. Unfortunately at present that wouldn't work with the internal architecture of RailClone, but we do have some other ideas for simplifying graphs.

Cheers!
