Vraylight randomize temperature and intensity
« on: March 09, 2022, 02:05:19 PM »
RC 5 + vraylight. My problem - I can't seem to achieve stable results.
Also, my secondary goal is to avoid using multiple vraylight objects and to base the randomization on a single vraylight.

The vraylight is set as plane with a map instanced to it.
The instanced map is a "Railclone color" with "Vraycolor" in every slot.
Each one of the "Vraycolor" has a different temperature value.
It seems to work while in the same IPR session but as soon as I pause and reinitiate - it ignores the entire "Railclone color".
However, it's enough to tweak a single thing about it (whichever I choose) and the IPR is working fine again.

I also tried working with "Vraymultisubtex" (with "Node handle" checked) and initially it seems to work the same way as "Railclone color", but even more unstable.

Image 1 is the desired result.
Image 2 is simply stopping the render and starting it again without making any changes.
Image 3 is what the instances "Railclone color" looks like.

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed post. I'm checking a similar setup here and it appears to be working as expected. Could you let me know which versions of RailClone and V-Ray you are using please? If they're not the most recent, would you be able to share just the problematic style with us so I can double-check I get the same behaviour on my system?

Many thanks,
Paul
