Title: Material from Segment show material on quick mesh

I'm using 3SDDMax 2022/Vray 5 and I have a several railclone objects referencing another in my scene (master style). I have started by just applying a multi-sub material to the whole thing, but then swapped to 'use segment material' and removed the existing multi-sub material from the RC object.

Now my RC objects are just showing as mesh colour, and I can't show materials in VP. Is this a limitation of 'use segment material'? I'm trying to create some animation previews and obviously I don't have the transparent materials where I need them to be.

ok, ignore me, just found the FAQ. I'll just create a dummy material and use that for the previews.
