Max to Unreal floor problems
« on: February 27, 2023, 12:45:29 PM »
Hello, all.

I've made a floor in 3ds Max with the Plank_Floor macro and the "Auto extract tile texture" option set. In Max everything looks great but in Unreal the tiles have extrem color differences. As you can see in the screenshots, the "Random offset UV Channel 2" isn't set. - I've tried it also with instantiate geometry. The same problem.

I'm using vray and exported it via datasmith. Unreal version is 5.1.1 and Max version is 2023.3

Hi, it's hard to see what's going on without seeing the files. Did you follow this tutorial for the setup in Unreal?

Thanks,

Hi, Paul. Thanks for your fast reply and sorry for my late answer, but I'm working hard on that very urgent project.

I didn't follow this tutorial because I've exported the floor with datasmith, so I had many instances instead of one big floor. I think the problem lies in the vray material. It has a very strange behaviour in Unreal.

Now I exported the floor in one part and everything's fine.

regards, Urig
