Title: Metal sheets
Post by: IT1371 on June 04, 2017, 04:09:35 PM
So I have this wall I need to replicate.
These are basically metal sheets with 1-2cm gap between them.
But the thing is there is no pattern, I need to manually assign the cuts.
It there a way to make this with rc?

Hi,

An empty Segment with defined Fixed Size can be used to create "holes" and this approach can be combined with using the Clipping area. Attaching a sample scene. Hope you'll find it helpful.

Best regadrs,

Hi Michal,

This is not really what I meant. I already was successful with creating the window holes with the Clipping Area.

I solved it differently. I used vertexes to define the vertical cuts and 3-4 different generators with Z offset and different Z size for the segments.
After that I just cloned and edited the base spline, lifted it and re-attached.
It was a very long process but since there were no pattern I could quickly repeat with Railclone so I just did it manually.
