Hex Paver Falloff Transition
« on: October 04, 2018, 08:41:17 PM »
I'm trying to create a specific paving pattern where there is a dark colored paver  that runs down the middle (about 6' wide),  then the color gradually transitions into a lighter paver over the course of about 5'.  I've been following the tips referenced here (https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/2d-array-decrease-gradient-density-from-clippingarea-border/msg19105/#msg19105), but all of those conditions are falloff scenarios where the spacing increase gradually.  My scenario is a consistent grid of hex pavers, but the color is solid in the center and then gradually changes color over distance (see attached).  Is this something that can be accomplished.

Also, if you look at the left side of the plan, they gradually go from 3 paving colors down to 2 . . . but that's a problem I can deal with later.  One problem at a time!

Hi

I would approach this task in ForestPack with tint by map on surface feature.
There are too many aspects in this style to define under rules.
You will need to spend some time creating a tint map but it should be much faster and it solves both of Your questions.

Quick proof of concept:
