Title: Parametric building using A2s generator with clipping area not X and Y
Post by: FB4122 on July 03, 2023, 03:08:32 pm
Hi,

I want to make a basic modular building skeleton, just slabs every 3.3m height and columns on a grid of 6X6, using clipping area and not X and Y splines. Also, having a simple parameter to control the number of floors.

I tried to find a tutorial but failed, any tutorial I can follow?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Thanks for the question. Please take a look at the attached demo scene that uses a few A2S arrays to create a building carcass. Hopefully it's relatively simple to understand but please let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Paul

Thanks a lot Paul,

it is pretty much what I need which is fantastic!

I tried to understand everything but I feel I need a base knowledge of Macros! can you recommend any of RC tutorials that explains making this type of building?

Thanks

I don't think there is one on that particular Macro - that's a good reminder to create one, because it's very useful!

That would be great! I will try also to find the thread where artists post their questions to be answered in the AskItoo live!

Thanks

Hi Paul,
Could you please share the 3ds max file with the tower macro mentioned in this link?

I tried to check the link with the download files or the video to follow but I couldn't find any files! maybe it's an outdated link!

thanks a lot!
