Parametric rail.. again
« on: May 17, 2018, 02:41:14 PM »
Hi
If anyone can help me with this, please...
I have to set up a numerous rails with different setups around few buildings.

I just need good start position. I`m trying for past 6 hours to solve all parameters that are required :( ...
I don`t know if image explains the problem but I need to setup parameters for:
- variable height,
- variable evenly divisions,
- variable position of sphere group set (two spheres)  from the top of the rail
- variable size of the glass panel...

The Biggest problem are combined Evenly distribution for spheres&poles (cant see how to place sphere section between Evenly distributed poles)  and of course corners...

I know the RailClone is the best tool for this type of problem.. just  :o ...

Thank you for any help.

Best Regards

You added segments in max file, that's great. Could You please also compose a form and preliminary configuration for it. I am not sure about some details of Your sketch.

eg:

the `green evenly pole` is only on Evenly position, not on the Start/End/Corners...
the `wire spline` should bend on the Start/End and OUTSIDE corners (this is my biggest issue), on the inter corner should just bevel...

Can You please attach what You already have, so I don't need to redo everything from scratch?

ah... this is from another CAD..
I do not use MAX as my primary modeling tool... that is why I bought RC and FP so I can create complex stuff with my imported segments

My primary problem is how to place a new segments between Evenly distributed segments...
And second is how to `break`  corner position and place the `bend wire segments`

.. and please do not waste too much time on my problem, you already been very helpful on my "Compose  Pattern" problem....  I'm going to crack it somehow...  ;)

Here is my first RC attempt..

Since I`m still learning but through work I do not have time for more detailed reading of manual or tutorials

I still have some issues with Compose and Segment operators so this RC generator is full or single L1S

... so... I set it on the side for a few hours to clear my mind and I will probably start all over again  with the segments from the first post..

I would still want to get Your cad. I would use that to prepare geometry for RC.

Hahaha... you are very persistent..
It is IronCAD so I will have to export geometry to dfx/3ds format to import ito 3DSMAX... but I do not have anything more then this segment from the images. I just make this part to show dimensions...

Now I have to call my wife to start  my home computer, go to Teamviewer export CAD file..  ;D ;D ;D whole bunch of procedures just for peace of fence  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ahhh... you want to slice/cut my geometry for new segments....
So that means I need new approach :D... so much L1S is not good? :D

L1S is good approach. You have too many L1S generators to handle.

Yes I know... I wanted to do as much as parametric... to change almost every part of the Railway setup..

Here is the CAD for segments... I get it now... You are going to slice/cut it all over...

Thank You

Just one more thing. I will need option on/off for Glass panels (so I assume this is one/two horizontal cuts more?)...

Thank You again for Your unselfish support!

Thank You... Please don`t do anything before because I just got request for more variations  ::) :o :(
I`ll make my new attempt with less generators and then we can see about any potential issues.
