Title: Parametric Surface Mesh Distribution

Hi everyone,
I have a parametric surface (surface image) that I want to distribute a mesh pattern (Mesh_pattern image) on it but I can't find a way to trim the bottom, witch is unevenly catted (controlled by an spline). I tried using the bottom line as the X Spline and vertical as deform option at the segment, but it deforms my mesh pattern and also pops one line of the pattern out (Mesh_Problem image). Is there an alternative way to do it, maybe with an expression or macro that will control the Y Size, driven by the z position of the bottom line?

I have seen that technique before I post my question and was really awesome. Unfortunately when I changed the display mode to mesh to add the modifier the scene froze. That was caused by the high density mesh pattern 11000 and the segment count 908 I think.

Did you figure out how to do it?
I have similar issue, but I am thinking about creating texture and unwrapping the geometry and using as displacement map.
