Patterned Brick Help
« on: April 01, 2025, 05:50:27 am »
Hi there,

I'm trying to create a brick pattern like the image attached, whereby every 2nd Y row has a protruding brick and a half-size brick next to it...
i've attached the image of how the pattern is supposed to look and my working file where I'm trying create the pattern inside a fence...

If anyone could help me make this work I'd be very grateful..

NB. I do need all the bricks to align correctly too in both the X and Y axis'.

Many thanks in advance! 🙏

Hi,

Using Sequence operators wired to the Default Input instead of the Evenly Input keeps them aligned. Please find attached a revised version of your scene (250402_Brick_Pattern_01_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Sorry Michael,

one more question, how can i get it to "turn" corners without having every 2nd row of bricks cutting on a 45 degree angle?

Many thanks (again)!

Luke.

To solve corners, you can adjust the padding values of the segments and use them within the Compose operator. To alternate rows, the Sequence operator can be used again. For further reference, you might find the RailClone for Brick Walls thread helpful - although it's an older post, the techniques demonstrated are still effective for achieving these results. I hope this helps.

Best regards,
