Hexagonal array with variation
« on: November 03, 2017, 10:35:57 AM »
Hi all,

We've been tasked to create this type of wall (see attachment). Not exactly this, but similar in the details.

It's the hexagonal/honeycomb pattern that we need to recreate along a curved wall. So the holes get bigger and small randomly. We've had some decent results using a script to create the hexagons, varying their size with a noise map. The problem with that is the geometry we end up with is terrible and would need a lot of extra cleanup to be usable.

Is it possible to create this type of thing with railclone? W ideally want to do it in a parametric way to make it easy to change in the future if we need to. Any solutions or ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Andy.
Cheers,

a lot of can be taken form this topic:
https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/2d-array-decrease-gradient-density-from-clippingarea-border/

as i see smaller hexagons are at the edge which is the case of thread above.

Also aproach mentioned here https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/12-running-bond/ probably wil lbe best in Your case.
