Problem with arrangement of roof tiles
« on: September 24, 2014, 05:25:43 PM »
Hey everyone,

when creating a roof using Railclone Pro I met a problem concerning the correct arrangement of the objects. I attached two pictures that show the problem: The first picture shows the original roof where everything is fine, the second picture shows the roof with an exchanged roof tile model for the middle part of the roof. The model has the exact same proportions and the pivot is located in the exact same spot of the original tile model with all three axis' pointing in identical diretions. Nevertheless the roof tiles aren't arranged in the same way as in the first roof. Does anyone know how to fix this? Am I missing something important?  :'(

Tanks in advance for your help  :)

Hi,

It still looks like an axis alignment issue to me, You could try resetting the XForm on all the source geometry alternatively you could probably just compensate for the odd alignment using the Segment or Transform node's Fixed Rotation Properties.

If you're able to upload the files, I'd be happy to take a closer look.

Many thanks.

Hey,

thank you for your fast answer. Hmmm i hoped that maybe I missed something basic and that it was something different than an axis problem  :P By turning the pivot point manually I can indeed adjust the tiles but I was wondering about that because I already did adjust the axes before creating the roof. I will also try your suggestion of the xform reset. If it won't work out in time I will upload the file.
