Concrete Curb Preset - Gaps disappear on curved part of spline
« on: December 22, 2015, 08:58:18 AM »
Hi,

I'm using RailClone Preset "Concrete Curb", yet it only appears to work for a spline that's going in a straight line.

When the curb goes around a corner, i.e. a curved kerb, the gaps disappear and you are left with no gaps at all......

How does one fix this ?

On closer inspection, the gaps seem a bit temperamental anyway, even on a straight line (maybe when a curve is 'approaching' ?).

Many thanks.

Kindest regards,

Jez

Hi Jez,

I think the issue here is caused by the way the style interacts with the base spline. The vertices are all set to the Corner type which is means that the segments are getting constantly sliced and reset. You get much better results if you set all the vertices to Smooth or Bezier and use Bezier-Corner or Corner only when you need a hard turn.

I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Happy Holidays!

Paul
