Title: problem with evenly fence
Post by: oligophant on November 10, 2016, 09:56:15 PM
Hi, i want to make a fence with gaps. The module its 4000mm long, 50mm gap with each module. The module have one "foot" in the center and 4 "suns" distribuited equally in the module. I tried to compose in pairs and nested gradually the items with the compose operator but i dont get the results i want. Please help me with that.
Also, i would like to choose different modules lenghts, 2000mm, 1000mm and 500mm to fit my project needs. I attatch the scene.
Thanks

NB: how could i "de-emmbed" the geometry on the example library?, i want to learn from those examples how they were made.

Hi,

I would suggest you to use a Sequence Operator wired to the Default slot. By setting the Counter value for the "Compose" node you can easily define the number of "sun" Segments (in the sample scene it's driven by the Random Parameter choosing values between 1 - 4). The gap is set by an empty Segment's Fixed Size (which can be exported, if wanted). Hope you'll find useful.

In the Style Editor's Tool-bar, there is a Extract Segment to a new object button for these purposes (the object is created at its original coordinates and RailClone uses it as the new source object, discarding references to the old one).

Best regards,

Hi,

This value can be entered directly within the Sequence Operator (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/RAILCLONE/Operators#Operators-Sequence) or by exporting this parameter and wiring it to a Numeric Parameter (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/RAILCLONE/Exporting+Parameters#ExportingParameters-Numeric) mode for easy adjustment directly from the UI.

Best regards,
