Title: Progressive lateral slope along a spline
Post by: JEA on January 28, 2019, 12:07:01 PM
Hi, i was using the standard railclone patern to build a railroad along a spline but now i am struggling on how i could insert a progressive lateral slope in the curves.

I feel that i need to add a Y rotation in the transform, but i want to apply this rotation :
- only in the curves ( this should be done with limits start / end )
- with a progressive ( starting with 0 and going to max value with a distance parameter)

Trying to be clearer, for now my spline describes straight and curved sections of a railroad (see attached file). I have to add a 16cm elevation between right and left rails in the curves. This elevation must be added on a defined distance ( i dont know it yet, but lets say 100m).

Can you help me with this please ?

Please attach Your current style and explain where You struggle.

I started looking at this https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/transform-segment-along-a-spline/ and tried to adapt it to rotation instead of scale but ... nope. And so far, i was trying to understand the "expression" panel using this example.

Anyway, back to your question here is my status.

Hi I attach You alternative method. Hope this works better for You.
You can visually adjust banking angle adjusting vertices along the spline:

Seems to do the job quite well :)

Thank you.
