Title: Proxy Cache loses segment material

Hi,

We've noticed an issue when using the RC Proxy cache in that the RC Object renders as the wire colour if no material is assigned.
This wouldn't be a problem for architectural features where a multi/sub material is assigned but causes problems when using RC for scattering objects like books/cars along a spline.

Ideally the segment materials would be baked into the RC Proxy cache.

Hi,
Unfortunately, this is a limitation of using External Proxy mode which bakes all the geometry into an external file. Since this is a proprietary file format (it's not a max file), it doesn't currently include materials or non-geometric models. If you need to use segment-by material then at present Embedded mode is the way to go.
