Title: Radial Paving Array?
Post by: cboogie on September 27, 2016, 10:00:12 PM
Is there a good way to create a radial paving array?  I have a series of arc'd pavement sections that require a specific selection of brick colors.  My first thought was to create a 2D array, but I can't quite figure out how to make the bricks follow the arc of the paved area.  Is this possible in a 2D array?

Hi,

The Default Segment : Adaptive mode will be probably the most adequate for this task and the recommendable Geometry : Y Mode would be the Free one. Each Segment will be placed using its local X axis. Attaching a sample scene using this set-up.

Please feel free to check following tightly related thread "circular paving (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3532.0)" for more tips. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,

this worked out really well.  I was able to build out a series of 2D arrays that were built from a single arc.  Then in each array I was able to mix the brick colors to match their specification colors using the material snap in.  This would have taken me forever to create in a giant map or to get the arc correct in the standard array tool.  Thanks so much!
