Title: Railclone 4.2 - 3ds Max 2019 - supermarket presets crash file
Post by: RF4522 on September 23, 2020, 11:47:54 AM
Hello itoosoft-team,

We're having an issue with the supermarket presets from the railclone library.
When we load them into an existing file, they crash the scene and 3ds Max remains completely unresponsive.
Creating a new file with only a spline and the railclone element does the same thing after selecting the supermarket preset. It happens with any supermarket preset.
I managed to open the *.max-file of the preset itself (..\\lib\default1\Architecture\Building types\Supermarkets\Groceries\objects\rc_supermarket_all_in_one.max). The file works, but seems to be very slow.

All other presets, that we tried, seem to work flawlessly.

Any idea why this might happen?
The library is set to be on a network drive, but this does not affect the other presets. We only have problems with the supermarkets.

Many thanks in advance and best regards from Berlin
Wojtek

Hi Wojtek,

Thanks for reporting this. It would appear that some of the changes in RailClone 4 cause issues with this preset. We're looking into it and we'll hopefully be able to release an update soon.

All the best,

Paul

Hi Paul,

thanks for the reply. We'll be waiting for an update.
I guess, there is no other way of using the preset right now. Rather than maybe baking the geometry from the preset file and creating a new railclone.

Best
Wojtek
