paving and different paving at borders
« on: April 15, 2021, 10:54:54 AM »
hello again,

This time Im trying to do simple paving pattern but with different single "brick" at borders. In first situation I'm using "Segment -> Herringbone" and for this paving type I need to rise "expand" value for proper fill of area but then border bricks are disappearing.  In second situation geometry is in other shape but again this time border "bricks" are making holes. Maybe in second situation border bricks should be in size of geometry placed at the middle?

Can I ask for help/advice what to do in those situations?

Hi
I can`t help you at the moment because I don`t have access to the Max but you can check my free macro on Gumroad:
https://gumroad.com/dragan_prodanic#DLra
Also, https://www.itoosoft.com/freeplugins/splineoffset from Itoo can help you to separate borders from the main pavement.
As for the issue of the gaps, check to Expand option at the General tab of the generator.

ok thanks for help ! well it does exactly that I wanted, without Your macro I would be unable to do that...just wondering is there any other way to do it ? I have really big scenes to do, and when assigning this macro it seems like it have heavier impact on pc. Maybe there is another way?

You could make your own generator from scratch without macros and all those parameters to calculate.
Second, use Boxes in Display settings will increase viewport performance also.
