Hi,
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with this. Normally, it shouldn’t be necessary to configure these paths manually. When FP/RC is loaded, it automatically checks if the paths exist, and if not, they can all be added automatically (a warning message will appear). If you previously selected the
Do not show this message again option, the pop-up window may have been disabled. You can restore it by setting
checkTexturePaths = 1 in the
forestpack.ini configuration file, which is located by default at:
.
C:\Users\<yourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\<maxversion>\ENU\en-US\plugcfgFor the RailClone plug-in, the process is similar. I recommend checking whether the following system registry key (via regedit.exe) has
CheckTexturePath = 1 set:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Itoo Software\RailClone Pro]. If not, you can use the attached file (
RC_CheckPaths.reg) to restore it. RailClone checks the folders specified in this registry key: [
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Itoo Software\RailClone Pro\TexturePaths]
These paths should appear in the 3ds Max settings within the
3dsmax.ini file, which by default is located at:
C:\Users\<yourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\<max version>\enu\3dsmax.iniIn recent versions of 3ds Max, you can also use environment variables for this purpose (e.g.,
ADSK_3DSMAX_ASSETS_MAPS_DIR). Please see the following link for more details:
