Railclone Curve Detection
« on: April 23, 2025, 03:51:44 am »
I'm trying to make walls with Railclone.
This is the simplified version of the wall I want to make with railclone.

The image is in the attachment.

On the left side is made with railclone.
In the middle are my 2 meshes, one with no segments (low-poly) another with many segments (high poly).

The right side is just sweep modifier applied to the spline.

I want Railclone to detect whether it's straightline or curved, so that I can switched between the high and low poly.
The straight bit can be low-poly, and curved is high-poly, this is so that I don't get unnecessary segments along the straight lines. Kind of like the sweep on the right hand side.

Is this possible?

Hi,

You can use the Conditional > Type > Line / Curve setting to determine which segment should be placed. Make sure to adjust the base spline accordingly. Alternatively, using Material IDs can also be a helpful approach, depending on your setup. I've attached a sample scene that demonstrates this style configuration. I hope this helps.

Best regards,
