Title: Railclone objects Xref crashing scene
Post by: Troy_1234 on September 11, 2024, 05:45:44 pm
Hi,
I have some Railclone objects in a context scene which Xrefs into a master scene. It renders without issue in the context scene but once I xref it in and render it in the master, it crashes every time. The scene renders fine with everything else on and just the railclone turned off.

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks,

Troy

Hi Troy,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues. Although I wasn't able to reproduce the crash here (with XRef Scene or XRef Objects), using RailClone objects as XRef Objects isn't recommended, as it can lead to unpredictable results. Within an XRef Scene, it should work fine, but using the Proxy Cache (https://docs.itoosoft.com/railclone/display-settings#to-create-a-proxy-cache-saved-in-an-external-file) to store these objects would be a more reliable approach.

Best regards,

Hi Michal,

Thanks for your reply, would you proxy cache within the XRef scene or do you mean within the master file? Ideally it needs to be in the Xref along with all of the other context modelling.

Thanks,

The recommended way would be to have it in the master scene - you can use the External Proxy Cache feature and store it in a separate file if preferred.

Best regards,
