Title: RAILCLONE pavement pattern continuity
Post by: Marta on August 11, 2015, 09:42:28 AM
Hi guys,

I have a problem while working with pavement patterns.
I have several clipping paths side by side. Each clipping path is a different color of the exact same pattern created with RC (herringbone).
But I have no idea how to keep cintinuity of the pattern... especially that the "tiles" are rotated 45 degrees.
Little screenshot attached - maybe anyone coud help? :)

Hi,

Thanks for the question. I think in this case you will have to create the size of the array manually instead of using Extend X/Y size to area. To do this create a RailClone object using X Y size parameters that is large enough to cover both clipping splines and rotate to the desired angle. For each Clipping area, duplicate the RailClone object and assign the spline. The tiles should now continue across the cuts.

Please see the attached file for an example.

I hope that helps, please let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Many thanks,

Paul

hi,

I cannot acces the file, cause I'm using RC 2.3.4 and max 2015. Any chance you could save it in a different way?
Though if you can't - I think that I understand the main idea - I will give it a try! thanks! :)

My apologies,

This one should be in Max 2013 format. I hope it works better.

Many thanks,

Paul
