Railclone Paving - edges problem
« on: May 01, 2015, 12:45:57 PM »
I'm making paving, quite successfully, but I'm having a bit of a problem making the slabs actually always come to the edges.

Generally the railclone works, using a surface and a cropping spline, and looks like this:

bus as you can see below, at the trailing edge (end of the array) on the offset slabs, it misses off the slab instead of cutting it.

Below, 1) is the surface that is used, 2) is the clipping spline that is used, and the circled areas are where I need to get a part slab to appear. It is only a problem where there is less than a half slab... which is annoying!

Hi,

Usually this occurs when using padding to create the offset row. I often find that increasing the generator's Expand property solves the problem:

I hope that helps, please let me know if there's anything further I can assist with.

Many thanks,

Paul

I am always amazed at the speed with which you guys get back to posts like this!!!

I had tried this before, but because I had moved the clipping spline in the z direction so that I could see it clearly, increasing the "expand" value was making some of the edges of the slabs spike up. I have now moved the clipping spline back down on the same plane as the surface and it works fantastic.
