Title: Railclone Style Editor Chinese naming problem
Post by: QN1156 on April 05, 2021, 08:45:28 AM
When using the Chinese name in the Style Editor, there is no problem when editing, but when the file is saved and opened again, it will fail to open because of the garbled font of the font. I don’t know if there is any way to solve this problem. I can’t do it now Chinese naming, which has caused troubles in use.

I'm sorry, but actually it's not possible to use non-ascii characters in the Style Editor.
As you pointed out, although the Editor accepts it, that causes problems when scene is loaded.

This issue is in our to-do list. Initially, we have plans to limit the edition to ascii characters, to avoid this issue.
And on further versions, to provide support for Unicode characters (that will require much more changes in the code).

Please, would you post the original Chinese name for this parameter ?
I'm trying to reproduce the problem here, but it seems only certain characters cause this error, once they are saved.

Thanks,

I also found that only certain characters are wrong, but I can’t find the reason

Thanks. I don't know either why only certain characters are wrong saved, but not the others. We'll investigate it.

I have a new discovery. As long as you add English letters or punctuation marks and numbers after the Chinese name, it will not cause problems. Although some of the original Chinese sent to you have already added numbers, but the parameters associated with it" "Numeric" is also a pure Chinese name, which may lead to errors that have numeric suffixes. The result of my current test is that as long as you add letters or punctuation marks and numbers after all Chinese names, it will not cause problems. I don’t know these pairs. Did you find any help in finding the problem?

Thanks for the additional info.  We have not looked into this yet.
We are working on some other, higher priority tasks, such as max 22 support. Thank You for Your understanding.

Possibly in a major release. We have to do multiple changes, that will require testing.
