Wondering what is the best practice to add scratches and dirt (smudges) to a timber floor using railclone colour.
I am currently trying to place the dirt map in the tint map for the roughness and the scratches bump map tint map slot for the bump material. But not see any results.
Can anyone point in the right direction.

Hi! Might be worth checking the blending mode. The default is Color which won't make a lot of different for B&W maps.

Thanks Paul for your reply.
I have it set to multiply currently for the blend still not see a result. Just to confirm. Is putting a dirt map in the tint slot and setting its mapping to planar form object xyz the correct method to get the dirt across the floor?

Ah - actually RailClone Colour is incompatible with Planar from world XYZ, it'll always just use the object's UVs and in fact even then it's designed for tint randomisation so it will sample a single colour per plank, not display the full map. Instead, you should probably not use RailClone Colour but instead, just use a standard Max composite map.
