railcone surfaces help
« on: November 25, 2019, 03:25:26 AM »
Hi Wondering if anyone can help with this footpath issue I am having.

I have created a sloping surface with I am trying to apply a 300 x 600 tile to via railclone 4.  Once the slope starts railcone is deforming the edges of the segment to the lowest Z point.

To create the slope I traced over the original footpath mesh which was export from a CAD model with a closed spline.
Converted that spline into a edit poly and then created a outline spline from the edit poly.

In railcone
I connected the outline spline to the spline node and the edit poly to the surfaces node.

Any advice on what I am doing wrong here.

Hi,

To work correctly, the RailClone object should be entirely enclosed by the boundaries of the surface. If the RailClone object overlaps a boundary, unwanted deformation might occur. Making the surface slightly larger (for example by using the Edit Polygons > Outline & Inset tools) is good practice to avoid any unwanted deformations.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thanks Michal, that did the trick.
