Render nodes
« on: June 01, 2016, 12:57:52 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm having some issues with both of our render nodes. Neither of them are picking up the railclone objects (just a set of railings from the library) at rendertime - even though they appear to do so in the vraylog on both of the nodes.

There are no errors or anything, it simply renders as if railclone isn't even in the scene. My local PC renders just fine.

Hi, please double check RailClone is installed in the render nodes and it's same version than other computers.
You must find a RailClonePro.dlo in the "plugins" folder and several RailcloneVRay??.dll in the Max root folder.

Besides that, there are not other requirements to use it on network rendering.

Does it happen with all RC scenes, or only with those specific objects ?

In any case, please save the RailClone objects in a separate scene and send it to us. We'll check it just to be sure there is nothing wrong.

Thanks,

Well this issue just got even more strange.

Due to a tight deadline, I simply collapsed the railclone object to an editable poly; and it still doesn't render! It must be something to do with the materials you guys use?

[Edit] I've got it rendering after applying a reset xform and new material to it. Very, very strange issue indeed.

Yes, it's very strange. I don't remember a similar case, it's not unusual to see problems with missing textures on render nodes, but not objects that doesn't render because a material issue.

Well, i'm glad you could find a fix.

I've just had this problem on another scene. It seems to only happen on the presets I'm loading from the Railclone library, as the other items I've created manually seem to be rendering just fine.

I've tried it with a plain mid grey material, and it still doesn't render.

I've tried collapsing it to an editable poly, and it renders fine.

Any ideas? It is only the render nodes that seem to have issues. Locally it is fine.

Could it be a licence issue?

Yes, it would be a license problem. Please, send us the scene as described above.
