Little help with Linear 1S, please
« on: April 22, 2014, 03:03:57 PM »
Hello,

I am making some DIRTT wall systems, and have gotten stuck.
I have a linear 1s array using two objects as segments, and one spline as the base spline.

One of my segments (the glass panel, will not take the full length.
See picture, please, if it is unclear.

What am I doing wrong, please?
Thanks!

Here is a file with the RC attempt and the geometry version I'm trying to make (except hopefully neater geometry.)
Thanks in advance

You must apply a negative padding to the door, so it fits with the glass in the right position.

In the attached scene i've also resized the base spline a bit, to show the model correctly.

Hi Carlos,

I never thought of trying the padding!  Works great, thanks for the excellent support!

Best regards,

Update:  Thought I'd do this instead of creating a new thread.

I got my Railclones all correct looking but I'm having an issue with materials on one type.
Here is a picture of what happens that I hope is clear.  I can upload a max file if needed, too.

The Railclone objects are both using the same style.

Thanks a lot,

It's a strange issue, because RailClone doesn't modify the materials. It's just a geometric object.
Please, upload the scene. We'll check it.

Here is the scene from that issue.
However, I should mention since then the problem has gone.
I am unsure of what "fixed" it or why it would have behave that way.
Please excuse the messy models, naming, etc.

Thanks again!

Yes, i confirm there is a problem. We have a similar issue reported in ChaosGroup, probably it's related. I will post here as soon as we have some news.

Unfortunately there is not a workaround, except convert RailClone to instances using RailClone Tools. I apologize by the inconvenience.
