Rotate composed object followup
« on: March 10, 2018, 03:29:47 PM »
Hi there,

I wanted to followup on the thread by Rokas:
https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/rotate-composed-element/msg9615/#msg9615

I've got quite some doors and windows that could use this.
Thanks

Well I did the door style :

Just had to use more arithmetic then ideally would like:
Graph (it was done before the Macro feature was introduced):

Recently I mostly used this simpler door style:
It uses one spline for closed door. And if You need to open them- it uses separate path:

Hi Rokas,

Vray nice, looking great.
I presume that this was made using the L1S generator.
Do you think this would also be possible with with the A2S generator?
I'm often creating doors with different heights, so that would be easier.
Any chance that would work in combination with the second spline that controls the angle of the door?

So you can create a large number of doors, that can all be controlled?
Also I was thinking about the spline ID lately, is there a way to put more information into it? beside the mat ID of the spline, so that you could for ex couple the angle of the door opening by entering an ID of 60(°)
This in combination with for example the reverse option of the spline, so you can also decide if the door swings L/R and if the door itself is on one side or the other...

Thanks for looking into this!
btw, any chance you can share the script? would be great to have a look how you calculate the translation/rotations
