Title: RC color / VRayMultiSubTex with stochastic tiling
Post by: VanWijnen on July 31, 2020, 08:01:38 AM
I'm trying to use some new material setup with RC. It doesn't really work like I hoped, so I'm wondering if anyone has a workaround.

0. A standard material with RC color and the UVW X form node + offset is what I'm using now. That works. The elements get distributed over the texture and they receive a color adjustment through the RC color map.

In V-Ray 5 you have the stochastic tiling option which I would like to implement.

1. VRayUVWRandomizer > V-Ray bitmap > RC Color map > diffuse slot; doesn't randomize the materials / color. It seems that the RC color map doesn't receive/understand the input from the VRayUVWRandomizer.

2. VRayUVWRandomizer > VRayBitmap > VRayMultiSubTex > diffuse slot; it seems that the VRayMultiSubTex doesn't register the seperate elements within the RC object. (other modes like face ID, object ID etc. have the same result)

Hope I explained it clear enough, a test scene is a bit difficult with so many variables.

Hi

This is new feature for us too. We will check how it can be beneficial in combination with RailClone, check if there are any changes needed to make it work with RailClone.

Thanks for Your interest.
