Title: RC In Boolean Operation
Post by: GT4505 on August 20, 2020, 11:00:12 AM
Hi there,

I tried to use railclone to generate boxes and use them the RC as a reference in a ProBoolean to automatically cut a poly.
I once got it working real-time & interactively, but now each time I add the object and update it, the position jumps to another location.
When I get it out again, it jumps back to the original correct location.
I can't understand why it's happening, how can I solve this?

You can see the happening here:

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Vincent

Would You please attach a simplified max file?

Hi Rokas,

Sure, attached you can find the file.

Thx!

Thanks for the scene. Something interesting going on indeed. We will check it.

Meanwhile, why dont You use shell modifier on Your spline object?

Anyway, You can use RC, just make it Free object and align RC pivot to splines pivot.

Hi Rokas,

Thx, the free object works now!

A question about the shell modifier on the spline, when it's placed on the spline, RC stops generating the result.
Is it possible in some kind of way to use the same spline object, or better to make another reference then?

If You for some reason still need to use Spline for RC (i thought we skipped that with shell modifier) You can make reference instead of copy or instance.
