Title: RC model alignment on surface
Post by: Spiire_NM on November 20, 2023, 02:19:06 AM
Hi, my first RC object has been a doozy.
Populates housing estate with selectable kerbs, footpaths, randomized houses and mats, scaling, distribution and clipping options etc. etc.
However, when I have the house objects attached to a surface, even a flat plane, the further away/larger the placement spline model is from zero the worse the alignments get; sometimes even 2 lot lines right next to each other are crazy different even when on the same angle (samples are on tiny test scene)
I have reset x-forms, centered pivots, added extra vertices, simplified to just a single house model with all other features disabled and nothing makes any difference - even moving the entire large scene so worse errors are close to zero, the errors stay consistent.
Aligning vertex to surface and removing surface alignment resolves z rotation issues, but I then lose the follow kerb/roadline option.
This is first project use and have had to manually amend instanced house model rotations where really noticeable.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

As it's really hard to say, what's happening in your scene just from the provided screenshots - if possible, please feel free to send us (https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq/how-to-send-a-file-to-itoo-software/) your scene (ideally simplified and containing just this problematic object(s)) to check it here. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
