Unexpected Clipping Area behavior
« on: August 31, 2017, 12:25:35 PM »
In Railclone 2 I could easily do the following:
1. Create a Clipping Area X or Y with exclusion.
2. Z Offset the Generator.
3. The segments will "build around" the Clipping Area, taking the offset in consideration.
See video attached:

In Railclone 3 all it does is an offset and does not consider the Clipping Area.

Hi,

Big thanks for reporting this behaviour. Our main developers will have a look at it (it'll need to be investigated more in deep).

Best regadrs,

Best regadrs,

Meanwhile I reverted back to 2.7.5, but now my scenes I made with 3.0.8 will not render.
Is there a way to save it rather then rebuild all the styles?

Hi,

I'm afraid, we can't guarantee its full backward compatibility because of many new features, improvements and bugs fixed in any of published releases. Thanks for your comprehension.

I would suggest you to check the "Parse error" slightly related post on our forum: "There's a new Expressions syntax in RailClone 3. Expressions now require you to add a return property before the expression and a semi-colon (;)at the end of the line. Please feel free to check the "Converting RailClone 2 styles for RailClone 3" document, where you can find RC2 & RC3 differences."

Hope that helps a bit.

Best regards,

Rokas

There is no backward compatibility ... main main few styles didn`t translate to RC3. I had to redo styles for RC3. And my main environment is still RC2.xx for my crucial style to be redone. I like RC3 a lot.
