RAILCLONE vs EDIT POLY on interactive rendering of corona.
« on: March 27, 2020, 05:23:02 PM »
I noticed a huge différence of responsiveness between heavy railclone object and his editpoly clone on interactive rendering of corona.

thais makes lR unusable on big scenes with several heavy railclones.

Thanks.

Hi, it's normal than IR takes more time to initialize with RC objects, because they must be rebuilt when render starts (and once more when it stops).
Instead, poly objects are static geometry which is initialized much faster.

Anyway, this should be noticeable only when IR starts. Once running, perfomance should be similar, at least you modify some parameter in the RC object (then it must be rebuilt again).

Please, would you detail a bit more you experience with this ?
Does it happen also moving the IR view ?

Thanks,

Hello,
It is the same for me. the responsiveness of the IR becomes terrible as soon as I have a "big" railclone in my scene. I also noticed that the autosave was getting very long; IF I convert the railclone to editpoly, things go back to normal.
I'm working with the last version of railclone, 3dsmax 2020 and corona

Best
