Title: RC Slicer on all three axis??
Post by: Lars Egerrup / LKE Design on August 17, 2023, 03:50:01 pm
Hi there,

First thanks a lot for the RC Slicer  - it is making thing so much easier!!!
Now I might be too greedy, but ... would it be possible to make it work on all three axis?
Take fx a cabinet, - that can change size on both in width, depth and height. :)

- And please make the option to have the evenly cuts go symmetrical of a center position.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers, Lars

Hi Lars,

Thanks for the suggestion. As it stands at the moment, RC Slicer is designed specifically for inputs in the L1S and A2S generator. As we don't currently have a 3-Axis generator, I think adding additional slices for a custom workflow could be potentially confusing for other users. On the other hand, you can achieve this quite easily by combining Max's built in slice modifier to create the additional layers you need.

I agree with you about the symmetrical evenly and corner cuts - that one is on the to-do list  :)

Hi Paul

I know, I have used it on the Cabinet I mentioned in the other post today.
I have been thinking if it was possible to make a combi?

So that you slice on the Zaxis with a normal Max Slicer, and then use the RC Slicer on the 3 resulting part for the x and Y axis'.

What do you think about that?

Hi Lars

That's sort of what I've done in that sample file. RC Slicer is instanced on all 3 parts so you can adjust them all simultaneously.

Cheers,

Paul
