Road Edge Paving
« on: August 27, 2024, 04:17:30 PM »
Hi,

I'm hoping you can help me.

I'm trying to do some edge paving on a job for a large manor estate.   Initially it was working well (RC_Road_Edge_Paving_Part_001) but in areas it isn't.

The paving either doesn't go to the end of the line, over-shoots the line or when it comes to the rounded bit, is overlapping itself.

The latter I assume is due to the vertices of the line.

Is there a way to have them fit correctly and where needed cut at ends of lines?

I hope you can help with this?

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean,

The issue arises due to the alignment of the Segments. Switching to Automatic X Alignment should resolve it. Additionally, we typically advise against applying modifiers directly to RailClone objects, as this disables instancing. While this might not significantly impact performance in most cases, it's important to note that the entire RailClone object will be treated as a single mesh. Instead of using the UVW Map modifier, consider using the Apply Box Mapping feature.

Please find attached the modified version of your scene (240828_RC_Edging_ITOOSOFT.max). I hope this helps.

Best regards,
