Roof Issue
« on: September 19, 2018, 05:26:34 PM »
Hi,

I've watched a number of tutorials, how to place shingles on a roof plane.
Tried using all the methods with the attached geometry, but can't seem to get it working.
Creating the spline also works, but there must be something wrong with the geometry.
It was a sketchup import from a client.

Can anyone have a look at it?

I'd like to know how to fix this for an upcoming project.

Thanks and best regards!

Hi,

Sorry, Will reupload a file with my railclone attempt later.
The issue is, that when I use one of your scripts, or create a poly line from the roof myself, nothing happens.
When I create a plane and apply a roof style, railclone works fine.
There must be an issue with the geometry, but I don’t know what it is.

yes, imported geometry is quote bad. inverted normals, floating edges..
