Hi,
I've noticed an issue with the RailClone Tools instantiate option when it is run from maxscript.
No issues when running it manually through the UI.
I've replicated this on multiple workstations, and I've seen someone else posting about the same issue in March in the Useful scripts sticky thread.
Let say I run
Railclone_Pro.global.Instantiate 2 "aaa" true true false true
The instantiate operation succeeds, but then 3dsmax is put into a strange state where Undo doesn't work and objects move further than they should.
So for example if I use the transform type in to move a box 1m in +x axis it will do so. But if I click and drag the move gizmo 1m (as displayed in the transform type in field) the box has actually moved about 17m.
The same bad behaviour occurs when dragging other numerical sliders related to transform e.g. in the F12 transform type in window. So its not just something to do with the gizmos.
The undo stack just ceases to exist for any new operations, which is very weird.
The only fix I've found is to completely close the max session and reopen the file in a new session.
Does anyone know of a workaround or even just what the reason is for this behaviour? What is happening to 3dsmax when it gets into this state?
Many thanks,
Jack
