Hi,
Does anyone know how I can scale segments to the spline segment length, and also keep the ends all joined nicely, whilst keeping the geo layout the same.
In yellow is a sweep where it uses a box, in white is the closest I can seem to get. If I enable Bevel then the geo gets a bunch of random verts added.
It's been a while since I used Railclone, so apologies if I'm missing something obvious.
Thanks

Can You please attach Your max file?

Colour me stumped, but it seems to be working now. I have no idea what I was doing wrong yesterday... :-X

Happens to everyone! ;)

Oh wait, no it isn't Bevel is screwing things up. If I don't have show edges on, I don't spot it though.
Max2017 file attached.

Hi
Unfortunately we could not make the style as You have requested.
This is the closest we(Paul) could achieve:

Thought that might be the case, Thanks for trying.
Is there any chance of this type of behaviour being supported in the future?

What is real world practical example where this would be used?

The reason to use this is that we can have control over each individual segments length exactly, and to keep the polygon structure absolutely optimized. So for example, if we wish to model a low poly version of a high poly mesh (say from laser scanned data), we can control at key points to make sure they match the details which aren't quite uniform in real life.

Unfortunately we do not know a way how to implement such a mode.

Hmm,
How about this?
At present in the arithmetic nodes we have spline length and spline segment lengths. However the segment length is just until the next defined point such as a corner. This breaks up the default tiling mode.
If the actual spline segment length was also exposed in a different way, I could automatically adjust the size of my node and just use the tile option in my generator?
In beneath image:
Red = smooth points
Blue = corner
Black lines are the length of segment lengths.
