Title: skip objects
Post by: JI5496 on February 18, 2021, 02:55:09 PM
Hello,

What is the best way to skip objects?
Im not sure if my setup is correct but I have found no other way yet. Please see the attached screenshot/file.
My curtain wall consists of 2 types of colums, a bigger and a smaller one. While the smaller one is simply generated with an evenly operation , the bigger one is only at every 3rd position. I managed to do that with the sequence operator.
The problem arises when I want to add another segment - the "cross" (red circle), which is also supposed to be at every 3rd (big) column. I thought - no problem, just use the Sequence operator again - this time with a "null object" but that does not work at all.
I read in the forums of other people having problems with that too. So, as of now I have a small box as placeholder object, to make the sequence operator work. But that can't really be the solution, right?
Have I missed something, there must be a better way.

Thank you!

Yeah  :( you cant use empty segments in Sequences. I hope this will be on the list for next release.

Oh my god! I spent my last 2 weeks completely on RC.

...but do all the tasks, eventually.

So I read "eventually" as "evenly" at first glance. I read it few times  :D

When you start referring to items around the house as Segments you know you've got problems   ;)
